Reflections from Fr. Ed
It’s been nearly half a year since I moved to St. Oswald’s with my wife Carrie back in July 2021. We’ve been warmly welcomed by you and enjoyed getting to know you all so far!
We’ve already had our first trip to Walsingham in October which was a fantastic time for fellowship, good food and making time for God. We look forward to our spring visit in 2022 with more of you, where we will continue to seek God and discern his direction for our lives and as a community at St.Oswald’s.
Our bi-monthly Sunday dinners at the vicarage have given us a chance to really get to know everyone. We’ve now had over 30 of you for lunch and we are looking forward to these continuing over December and into the new year! (If you haven’t signed up yet for a Sunday dinner please pop your name along with any dietary requirements on the list at the back of church.)
St.Oswald’s platter has been a new initiative I’ve been working on to minimise food poverty and food waste. It accompanies the fantastic food bank we have already on a Tuesday at the church. I have been bowled over by the donations and support we’ve had for this.
I look forward to my ministry over the coming year and all the new season has to offer. We pray that as COVID numbers lessen we can meet together and have more times of fellowship and hearing God’s direction together.
Blessings, Fr. Ed
