Weddings at St Oswald’s Church
It is a great joy when couples come together and seek the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Here at St Oswald’s we look forward to joining you for this joyful journey. We wish to give you all the support for your marriage in the years to come.
Marriage is a gift given by God that allows husband and wife to ‘comfort and help each other, living faithfully together in need and in plenty, in sorrow and in joy’.
You can get married at St Oswald’s if you have not previously been married, and if either you or your fiancé(e) live in the parish, attend the church or are on the electoral roll. You may also get married here if you have a qualifying connection with the church, such as if a family member was baptised or married at St Oswald’s.
Fill in the application form so we can check that you can legally get married at St Oswald’s Church and start to make preparations for your special day.
Wedding Bann’s Application
You may be having your wedding at another church, but if you live in the parish of St Oswald’s you will still need to have your Bann’s read here.
As your parish church we will still provide all the help and support that couples being married at St Oswald’s receive. Fill in the Bann’s Application form to start this process.
